UCSB hosts hundreds of international students each year who participate in study
abroad programs. Only students whose home university has a reciprocity exchange
agreement with the University of California can participate in the UCSB Education
Abroad Program and receive J-1 visa eligibility status through the Office of International
Students and Scholars after their admission to the program. Click here for a list
qualifying universities.
Students must apply for admission to the UC EAP through
the appropriate study abroad office on their home campus. Students will fill out
a general University of California program application and then designate UCSB as
their preferred choice. Only after a student has been approved for participation
in a program will he or she receive the Form DS-2019 Certificate of Eligibility
from the UCSB Office of International Students and Scholars that will allow them
to apply for a visa at a US consulate in their home country. For general information
