Document Upload Help

  • I don't have my UCSB NetID or Umail yet. How do I access the OISS Portal?

Sorry, you will need to wait until you have received your NetID and Umail.

Approximately 5-10 days after submitting your SIR (Statement of Intent to Register), you will be able to get your UCSB NetID so you can access your UCSB Umail account.

The OISS International Student Portal email invitation will only be sent to your UCSB email account.
  • I received the OISS Portal invitation but I can’t log in.

Your name, date of birth and country of citizenship must match our records EXACTLY for you to create your Portal account.  Please verify your information with our office.

  • I uploaded an incorrect document. How do I upload the correct document?

It's easy! Just upload the new document as you uploaded the previous documents. If you have multiple copies of the same document, OISS will use the most recent version.

  • Can I delete a document I uploaded?

Sorry, there is no way to delete documents, but you can easily upload a corrected document.
Don't worry. Our advisors look at each record carefully before processing your Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019). We will contact you immediately if we have any questions or concerns.
  • I'm not sure, but I might attend a workshop or department training that requires me to arrive earlier than CALI Training..

Great! You can arrive up to 30 days before the start date on your I-20 or DS-2019.  If you need to arrive earlier than that, please reach out to our office so we can ensure you have the correct information reflected on your immigration document.
  • I uploaded all my documents, but my Certificate of Eligibility hasn't been shipped yet!

Please allow up to 6 weeks for your I-20 or DS-2019 to be mailed. Each document must be individually prepared and verified. Most students will receive their Certificate of Eligibility much sooner.
You will be notified when your I-20 or DS-2019 is in the mail.
